Flexo Innovations at Esperienza Center

The event brought together converters, printers, and industry partners from across Italy to explore the latest developments in water-based printing, coating, color management, and press automation.

Throughout the day, visitors experienced live demonstrations of the SOMA Optima² flexographic press equipped with Intelligent Printing Unit (IPU) technology, showcasing
water-based printing and coating on plastic substrates. The demonstrations highlighted how converters can improve efficiency, reduce waste, and achieve high-quality results while supporting sustainability goals.

A key attraction was innovative SOMA Anilox Management with integrated Anilox Cleaner, providing full visibility into anilox condition through RFID-based tracking. Visitors saw how the system helps reduce setup times, eliminate operator errors, and ensure consistent print quality by ensuring the correct and properly cleaned anilox is always used for every job.

The event also featured expert presentations from industry partners Sun Chemical, Simec, Ulmex, Esko, and BST, covering topics including PPWR-compliant packaging solutions, flexo pre-press workflows, web inspection systems, and print process automation.
